Joseph Byers, Coach & Founder
Joseph Byers started Crossfit in college following an introduction to the website by his friends. He began doing daily workouts from Crossfit and Sealfit.
Joseph began his coaching career as captain and Vice President of the University of Washington Boxing Club in 2008. He began coaching Crossfit in January of 2011. He is a certified Kettlebell instructor from the International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation and enjoys reading, trekking, and adventure travel.
“I have always considered myself a generalist, so I want to be able to do it all – climb high, run far, lift heavy, and move gracefully – and CrossFit offers just that – the opportunity to improve your capability in all athletic skills. Today, I am able to share that opportunity with people in my community. And for that, I feel very fortunate.”

Andrew started Crossfit six years ago. With over a decade of experience in law enforcement, search and rescue, and emergency medicine, Crossfit was the best way he found to stay in all around shape. It also helped with his hobbies, including adventure motorcycling and alpine mountaineering.
As a long-time paramedic, I became very frustrated by the number of patients with life-threatening but preventable conditions. I love working with people at whatever level they are and watching their health and confidence improve – and keeping them out of the hospital and off medications. Personally, there have been instances in my life where physical fitness was a matter of life and death. This is the reason that law enforcement, military, and fire fighters use Crossfit principles for physical conditioning and building mental toughness.
Andrew works full time for Remote Medical International, a company that provides medical and rescue services around the world. He began private coaching in 2009 preparing individuals for entry into military, specials operations, and law enforcement. Andrew can be found coaching occasionally as well as teaching the nutrition courses.
